The Robert T. Smith Photograph Collection consists of fifty-five photographs collected by Robert T. Smith during his travels in northwestern Canada and Alaska. Images include landscapes, persons, and activities. The photographs document the typical sights and experiences of stampeders entering the north country during the Klondike and Nome gold rushes, including scenes of life in the gold camps of the Klondike and Alaska. The collection also includes a manuscript of Robert T. Smith's adventures, written by his son Victor Smith.

Robert T. Smith was born February 10, 1883. He came north to Alberta to homestead, but chose instead to continue north to search for gold.
